Star Wars Week continues with a guest we know from an iconic role in Star Wars.
Where shall we start, because this guest has done so much for Geek Culture over the decades.
Okay, let’s start in 1982, when his career took off like a rocket in a galaxy far, far away, when George Lucas personally chose him to be the star of Star Wars: Return of the Jedi as the most famous Ewok of them all: Wicket the Ewok!
Since that fateful day in 1982, he has never left the Star Wars universe and has played various roles in (takes deep breath) The Phantom Menace, The Force Awakens, Solo: A Star Wars Story, The Last Jedi, of course the two Ewok movies as Wicket and Star Wars Rebels.
I can already hear you thinking: so he’s a big Star Wars guy?
But it doesn’t stop there. He does almost the same thing in the Harry Potter film series where he plays the lead role of Griphook as well as Professor Flitwick and a familiar Goblin Bank Teller. Not enough leading roles yet?
We’ve only just begun.
He also plays the lead role of Willow opposite Val Kilmer in the 80s Fantasy Classic: Willow and the lead role of the Leprechaun in Leprechaun in all 4!!! Leprechaun Horror films.
He is also the depressed robot Marvin in The Hitchhiker’s Guide To The Galaxy, Sniff in Moominvalley, Porridge in Dr Who, Nikabrik in The Chronicles Of Narnia, a Goblin in Labyrinth, ….
We almost forgot to mention that he has a great sense of humour and comic timing and can really put himself in perspective, as we see in the hit series Life’s Too Short, in which he plays an exaggerated version of himself alongside Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant.
We are, of course, talking about one of our main guests at Comic Con Holland: the inimitable Warwick Davis!
